The Innovation Center

The Innovation Center is a fun, playful, and functional space within the school, designed with the future of education in mind This design of the center is broken up into three main areas; a library, media center, and study hub. The special layout serves to clearly designate each of the three areas. The library portion of the Innovation Center features a small section that houses hardcopy books. Excelsior believes that the future of education integrate technology into all facets of the school day. The Innovation Center is designed with this in mind, featuring an iPad and Kindle counter in which students may check out reading devices.  This  allows students access to a number of more options compared to a traditional hard copy library.The Innovation Center allows for a variety of seating as well as study options for students to take advantage of. This diversity in seating specifically helps students with ADHD as it allows them to find a place and which they are most comfortable to perform the tasks at hand. This helps to eliminate environmental distractions that could derail a student’s focus. The design also features study pods that are semi private areas,  allowing students a focus area separate from the rest of the center. The center promotes Innovation and study through innovative design and concept.
